Prempeh college wins Robofest world championships 2020

Prempeh college has won Robofest world championship 2020.

It was all thrills when the robotics team from Prempeh college -Ghana were crowned champions of the 2020 Robofest world championship. The competition which is aimed at improving STEM education was scheduled to take place in Michigan-USA but was held on a virtual space due to inconveniences caused by the COVID-19.

In one of the categories in which teams from Prempeh college participated, contestants were tasked to develop an error free robot coupled with a piece of wood which can be used to put five different colours of golf balls, into a hole-slot within a set time.

Team MikoGolf from Prempeh college, put up a splendid show to snatch the topmost position after beating contenders from Canada, Hong Kong, USA, Saudi Arabia  and others. Two other schools from Ghana, AgyengoGolf and  EddyGolf secured the third and fifth spots respectively.

It is known in recent times that schools from Ghana have performed exceptionally well in this competition. This is prempeh’s second trophy in a roll (2019 and 2020) following their triumph in 2013 and 2016. Opoku Ware School and Mamfe Methodist Girls’ Senior High School also won the championship in 2018 and 2019 respectively in different categories of the competition.

Congratulations to Prempeh college for making Ghana Robotics Academy Foundation (GRAF) proud.
