Bolt fires about one-third of it;s employees to make way of company restructuring

Bolt Sacks employees to make way for a fresh business setup in Nigeria.

Ride-hailing company Bolt has laid off approximately 20 employees from its Nigerian subsidiary, Bolt Nigeria, as part of a restructuring of the business.

Almost a third of Bolt Nigeria’s workforce has been affected, with most of the junior and mid-level staff losing their jobs.

The news was announced by Bolt’s Regional Manager for West and North Africa and ROW during an All Hands Meeting held on Monday, with the affected staff given one-on-one exit chats with Bolt’s People Manager.

Bolt had previously announced plans to recruit 326 new staff globally, including three managerial positions in Nigeria. But the company restructuring has led to disappointment and frustration among those affected.
